Fruits, flowers and edible plants, cultivated or harvested

The Solpérières Farm is a diversified farm, with agritourism (gîte benefiting from the EPN mark, visits to the farm), production/picking of aromatic plants and small fruits.

Located in the heart of the park, landscape integration and agro-ecology are values remarkably supported by Evelyne.

All the plants are cultivated by hand on small plots or scattered here and there for the pleasure of the eyes... They flourish on a limestone soil at 900 m altitude with a climate that is hot in summer and very cold in winter.

The edible plants, lavender, sage, agastache, roses, blueberries and their companions in the ornamental garden are weeded manually, as are the small fruits: raspberries, red currants, black currants.

Their location and the diversity of plants present next to them limit natural attacks (aphids, powdery mildew...) and if necessary, plant elixirs (nettle, comfrey...) are made to help them. No chemical treatments or synthetic fertilizers are used in the garden.

Particular care is taken during the preparation of the soil. Only a soft and surface work is realized. The home-made compost, the contribution of crushed plants from the garden and the crop rotations with the planting of green manures allow to keep the soil alive. Particular attention is paid to the management of water resources; all the plants require little watering and mulching limits their needs.

Depending on the season, Evelyne also picks wild plants: cuckoo, thyme, elder ...

The plants, edible flowers and fruits are transformed at the farm in the workshop, into 100% organic sorbets.

The products are to be tasted at the summer salon of the garden during the visits and on sale at the farm and on the local markets.
