Port-Cros National Park
"Raising environmental awareness gives coherence to our professional project..."

Edwige Coch was born in Marseille, "then I grew up on a boat on the island of Les Embiez with a father who was a diver...". Nicolas de la Brosse spent his childhood in Dijon, "but I come from a family of sailors and, at the age of 11, I embarked for a school year on board Fleur de Lampaul ," a famous traditional Breton sailing ship.

The parallels between their two careers do not end there..

For Edwige:

After studying marine biology: a master's degree in oceanography whose thesis topic was posidonia meadows, I worked at the Bouches de Bonifacio reserve as an eco-guide.

I then worked in Martinique and in Polynesia for missions of census, identification and monitoring of green turtles.

Nicolas also started a marine biology course in Brest before leaving for Australia and New Zealand for a master's degree dedicated to dolphins..

But I wanted to spend more time on the water and the job of a biologist did not allow it.

Nicolas then obtained his diplomas as a merchant marine captain, and embarked for the first time in 2004 as a crew member on Tara (oceanographic sailing ship) for a mission in Greenland. Then, from 2013 to 2018, as second captain, he participated in expeditions to the Arctic, Mediterranean and Pacific.

It is during one of these expeditions that the two life lines will meet.

They work together on different boats, until the desire to transmit and share their passion and knowledge of the marine environment leads them to create Passion Med.

The couple built a 10 meter sailing catamaran:

A human-sized boat, easy, functional, on board which they privileged the friendly, family side, thanks to its 360° open cockpit.

Based in Hyères, they offer day, half-day and sunset trips to the island of Porquerolles

A small jewel of the Mediterranean Sea that it is imperative to preserve. We thus make discover this exceptional site by the sea, by sensitizing the general public with the environment. This is what gives meaning to our professional project and it is in this logic that we wished to be associated with the brand Esprit Parc National.
