A native of Toulon with a degree in management, Florence Sanchez worked in several large hotels before answering an advertisement from a hotel group in Porquerolles for a position as management controller.
"I arrived on the island in 1991, and I met my husband Alain who has been a Porquerolles resident for three generations. The owner in love with the island sold the other hotels and gave her carte blanche... " I became manager of the Glycines in 1994, Lola, our daughter arrived in 1996 and we got married in 2007.
Two years earlier, Alain, a chef by trade, joined her at Les Glycines.
Since then, we work as a family, our daughter has grown up on the island, and we have a good life. It's an establishment on a human scale, we take care of the hotel as if it were our own. We live on site and we take full advantage of nature: in winter we walk every afternoon.
A family and professional harmony that has paid off... Lola is now studying hotel management.
For Florence,
the hotel is an excellent product in an excellent location, which allows us to charge high prices, but we take care of our clients. We advise them for the walks, we are very attentive to their requests. We also try to develop the activity on the middle and low season with preferential rates.

She also insists on the fact that the Charter of the National Park has taken into account the socio-economic actors, fishermen ..
It is, according to her, an essential step. We hope that other activities will develop like pescatourism, wine tourism... they attract this clientele who come here to enjoy nature, who are interested in the local heritage and who are sensitive to the environment.
