Family outing to the Bans refuge

The high mountain refuges of the Pays des Écrins are often difficult to access. The Refuge des Bans is an exception.

It is dominated by summits of of more than 3000 meters of altitude with sparkling glaciers, and in spite of that it is located in the mountain pastures, at a reasonable altitude: just over 2000 m.

The trail is a pretext for multiple pauses, in search of chamois, marmots, a small marmots, a small frog pond and small streams to cross. Here is a family hike at the Bans refuge in Vallouise, ideal for a first access to the night in the mountains! first access to the night in the mountains! This stay will make you discover a protected natural area, the Parc National Park of Ecrins.

Day 1 :

Meeting at the park house in Vallouise. Visit of the park house. Many playful spaces animated by your guide to introduce you to the world of the mountain before going through it during 2 days. Transfer to Entre les Aygues in the bottom of the valley of the wave at the desus of Valloiuise. Beginning of the hike to the refuge des Bans (2083m)

Difference in altitude : +500m

Duration : 2h of climbing

Day 2 :

After breakfast at the refuge, we go hiking above it to enjoy the mountain under the new morning light. Then it will be necessary to take again the way of the descent towards Entre les Augues and find Vallouise.

Difference in altitude : +200m / -700m

Duration : 1h of ascent

Number of participants : 4 to 12 participants per guide.

Dates : Saturday to Sunday & Thursday to Friday

Catering : Half board in refuge, evening meal and breakfast. Beginning of the board on the first day in the evening (included), end on the second day in the morning (included).
