Geological discovery around the Lake of Allos
1 day
Medium

This hike at the lake of Allos will take you back in time to discover the geological formation of this glacial cirque, as well as the lakes of Encombrette.

Initiated by Christiane, the hike will cover the fascinating themes of geology, in particular the Annot sandstone, peat bogs, fauna, flora and more.

From the Col de l'Encombrette, you'll enjoy a magnificent view of Lac d'Allos (Europe's largest natural high-altitude lake), the mountain of Mont Pelat (3050m) and the glacial cirque of Encombrette. You may be surprised to see ibex, whose preferred habitat is the cliffs.
