The little scrubland tour

HYèRES

Description

This 2.5 hour walk takes over 5s and their families on an adventure to meet the little insects and beasts on the hill during a fun-filled tour in the unspoilt mountain range on the Giens peninsula. Be warned, this is an expedition!

Set off armed with a butterfly net, magnifying glass and map with five hiding places each of which will reveal their treasure when the time comes! Amidst the pine trees and scrubland plants, mini explorers will learn how cicadas live and leave their moult behind... Its long life underground shortens as soon as it comes up to the sun. You'll see the praying mantis' ootheca, yet another bizarre species with a strange lifestyle. What type of butterfly will this caterpillar become? And which family is this beetle from? With mysteries and anecdotes, we'll look at the relationship between pollen and the scrubland's plant species as well as annoying yet vital mosquitoes. Let's think about how to protect them from invasive species without damaging the environment.

Observation, exploration and explanation... an exciting experience that all the family will enjoy.
