Forêts National Park
National park spirit means respect for the environment, respect for people, respect for the materials that surround us...

In Vanvey (Côte-d'Or), Etienne Rognon is a specialist in art staircases, as well as custom-made traditional and contemporary joinery.

My main activity is building joinery, whether it's French windows or staircases, and I'm much more into contemporary creation for the latter.

In traditional joinery, I'm particularly interested in reproducing entrance doors on old buildings. That's kind of my hobbyhorse!

I settled in Vanvey in 1998 after ten years of apprenticeship. I left when I was 16, in 1987, to come back to the Châtillonais region - Châtillon, which is my home town, then Vanvey, because it's a very pretty village on the banks of the Ource.

For me, the ideal solution was to return to the Châtillonais region as a craftsman and joiner. We didn't know it was going to become a national park, so that's an added bonus for me.

I've had the label since February 2023. For me, the Esprit Parc Nationalbrand is a guarantee of confidence in the environment and in my work .

As far as I'm concerned, I have to cut trees from the National Park. It introduces the idea of a short circuit. That's what I've been doing since the 1999 storm, so for over 20 years now. Since I set up, I've been looking for more ecological, healthier ways to finish my wood.

The Esprit Parc Nationalbrand is all about sustainability, respect for the environment, respect for people and respect for the materials that surround us. I think that the "national park spirit" encompasses all these things. That's what I've been trying to do since I moved here.
