Discover the starry Pyrenees.
In the heart of the International Dark Sky Reserve, this one-week stay in the Aure valley gives children the chance to understand everything there is to know about astronomy. Solstice, equinox, solar system, lunar cycle, etc. will soon hold no secrets for them. Children will also have the immense privilege of visiting the famous Pic du Midi de Bigorre, from where they'll enjoy a breathtaking view of the entire Pyrenees mountain range. A visit to the site will allow them to experience the human and scientific adventure of the place.
Day 1 :
Morning: arrive at your center and settle in.
In the afternoon, a game on the history of the great figures who have left their mark on astronomy will help us get to the heart of the matter.
Day 2 :
The second day will be devoted to building models of the solar system, an opportunity to talk about scales and realize distances in space. We'll also look at the lunar and terrestrial cycles.
Day 3:
Creation of an individual sky map. We'll also talk about black holes, nebulae, galaxies and other space-related vocabulary. Depending on outdoor conditions, a short night walk or slide show can be organized.
Day 4 :
Day at the Pic du Midi
Day 5:
Making a sundial, observing the sun through binoculars, then packing up and leaving.
