The Terraces of Saint-Paul
It is in Saint-Paul-la-Coste, a small village of less than 300 souls, between Alès and Saint-Jean-du-Gard, that Jean-Yves cooks with heart and soul. In fine weather, the terrace offers a panoramic view over the valley. A pleasure for the eyes and for the taste buds.
The restaurant, which is also a bar with the Café de Pays label, is open all year round for lunch and dinner and has taken the place of the old village school. Here, everything is marked by authenticity, passion and simplicity: the décor, the welcome, the products and the cuisine.
Jean-Yves is a self-taught enthusiast who makes local recipes with local and even organic products. Here, everything is homemade, from the delicatessen to the dessert, including the bread"lou pan d'Oc". Only good fresh products with local producers including vegetables, meat, poultry, wine(IGP Cévennes).
A former butcher, Jean-Yves specializes in a wide range of meats. He cooks Limousin beef and Charolais veal on the barbecue or a la plancha.
In winter, traditional Mediterranean dishes are honored such as hare à la royale, pigeons, omelette with truffles or ceps.
