Refuge of Vallonpierre

Nestled at the foot of the west face of Sirac, this refuge was built in 2001 of wood and stone. Spacious and bright dormitories, equipped with comforters. Hot showers and toilets inside.

From the refuge, possibility of several races and hikes : Sirac, col and pic de Vallonpierre, col des Chevrettes, GR54, refuge de Chabournéou, Tour du Vieux Chaillol.

Period of guarding: from June 13 to the end of September

Capacity : 39 beds

Altitude : 2271m

Access :

• From the Valgaudemar

1. By the minister's path (the fastest) : Departure from the parking lot of the minister's trail (500 m before the hotel of Gioberney), 2h30, 700 m of difference in altitude
2. From Chapelle-en-Valgaudémar: follow the GR 54 at the bottom of the valley and join the minister's trail at the Surette bridge, 4h30
3. From the Rif du Sap, via the Lavine sheepfold and the Chevrettes pass: it's a beautiful alpine hike that will awaken your sense of direction, count the day.
