In Châteauneuf-d'Entraunes, nestled at the bottom of a wooded valley, on the banks of the torrent whose name it bears, is a small jewel of the heritage of the Val d'Entraunes, the mill of the Barlatte. Take part in a free guided tour during the summer.
It is one of the very few ancestral mills in the mountain area that has resisted the ravages of time. A partnership between the owners of the building, the municipality of Châteauneuf-d'Entraunes and the Mercantour National Park has made it possible since the end of the 80's to save it from an unavoidable degradation.
For several years a program of free weekly summer visits, supervised by Thierry Schwab, mountain guide, allows visitors to discover this magnificent work whose milling facilities are still functioning.
Within the framework of these visits, the participants will be able to discover the mill in its magic frame but also, on the whole of the course, of the other richnesses of the local heritage. It will be a question of flora, fauna, pastoralism, the imprint of man on the landscape.
This tour "from wheat to bread" ends with a visit to the village cheese factory where you can taste delicious organic sheep's milk products. These outings are financed by the commune.
