Fresh vegetables - Les cultures de Giey

Established since October 2023 in the village of Giey-sur-Aujon, we produce a wide variety of vegetables, herbs and small fruits on a small area of less than one hectare. Our production is based on the principles of agro-ecology and organic farming: it's the health of our system as a whole that we promote through a range of agricultural practices conducive to biodiversity. These include planting hedges and trees, avoiding the use of phytosanitary products, low tillage, complex crop rotations and maintaining wild plants in cultivated areas.

Why "Les cultures de Giey"? We produce in the heart of the village of Giey-sur-Aujon, sell a large proportion of our vegetables direct from the farm and the rest within a 30-kilometre radius. It was therefore important for us to include the name of the village in the name of our company, as it directly indicates the origin of our products! The word "cultures", in the plural, illustrates not only the diversity of our products, but also our desire to contribute to the development and dissemination of knowledge. In fact, as both of us have PhDs in agro-ecology, we are keen to communicate on the challenges of implementing farming practices that promote biodiversity, a subject we address during visits to our gardens or at conferences, for example.
