À la rencontre de...

In the Pyrenees, in Jézeau, Sarah Langner, creator of the Pyloow brand, offers unique and responsible wool creations. With passion, Sarah designs cushions, clothing and wellness objects that make the most of local wools from Aure valley farms.

Sarah, who hails from the Hautes-Pyrénées region of France, followed a fashion career path with a degree in applied arts, and was trained in dressmaking. She then went on to business school to work on entrepreneurial projects.

I wanted to create my own business and I wanted to live in the Pyrenees. I looked for a link between my passion for textile fibers and the Pyrenees. I inevitably came across the resource we have in abundance: wool. I really fell in love with this industry."

She has two structures:

There's Marelha, which is a design office where we work to find new outlets for our local ewe's wool. And we also have an economic interest grouping of breeders called Toison d'Aure. We work with 5 breeds of Pyrenean sheep, the 5 hardy breeds. And we're going to concentrate on the 1st breed we've worked on, which is the Auroise or Aure et Campan, our valley breed.

Within Marelha, she has also created Pyloow, an interior design brand.

These are the basics, where we tend to play around with materials. We're more material technicians than designers. We like a timeless style that goes with as many interiors as possible and that lasts through the years. We have fun mixing wool with other fibers, which are always as local as we work with hemp from Occitanie.

Sarah is fully in line with the values of the Pyrenees National Park, notably through its close collaboration with local breeders.

We obviously share the values of the National Park, not least because we work directly with the breeders, and because our breeders transhumance. At Pyloow, we're delighted to be able to contribute in our own small way to pastoralism, through our work with Pyrenean breeders.
