Port-Cros National Park
"Joining Esprit parc national - Port-Cros, it's a personal challenge, it encourages to do better and the customers appreciate it..."

Brigitte Chevallier and her husband Christophe, both from Hyères, met on the port. Son of Dr. Chevallier, a famous pediatrician from Giens, Christophe left for Le Havre to study to become a long-distance captain.

As for Brigitte, after entering an optical school, she decided to study law and then to become a hearing aid specialist.. But my big regret is not to have gone to hotel school.

This does not prevent her from becoming an outstanding cook who has worked as a flight attendant for her husband. "In fact, I often went on board with him. At first, as the captain's wife, and then, little by little, I got involved.

When they go ashore, Christophe spends all his time fishing with the fishermen of Niel where he spent his childhood. "This passion has resurfaced. We bought a place on the port. For three years, I gave boating licenses and navigation courses. He bought the boat of the old fisherman with whom he used to go out as a child, La Foi, and we moved to Giens in 1996. In winter, they fish together, in season, Brigitte takes care of the table d'hôte they have opened at home. "We often fished around Port-Cros and Levant. We slept in the boat, we got up at 2 am to work. We ate for lunch and dinner the fish we caught with vegetables from our garden.

This life close to nature convinced them: they sold Giens and moved to Levant.

We were tired of running and we liked the idea of living on an island. That said... we still run as much as ever!

Since then, the Chevalliers have been very involved in the life of the island, as they have been for a long time within the National Park. Christophe is vice-president of the economic, social and cultural council of the National Park, he participated in the writing of the Charter. Brigitte is president of the local interest committee of Le Levant, which organizes many activities and events on the island and is particularly involved in waste management.

We have found a village life, and we defend the environment, even if it is not always easy
