Very easy

Nico Excursions offers you a 3h30 boat trip in a small group to discover the exceptional richness of the Grand Cul-de-sac marin lagoon. You'll discover mangroves, jellyfish, reef fish and pelicans on the bay's many islets.

After rendezvousing at the small port of Sainte-Rose, you'll head out to sea for a gradual immersion in the lagoon of the Grand Cul-de-sac marin to the sound of Captain Nicolo's explanations. You'll then set course for your first observation site, a shipwreck. You'll appreciate the fauna that has colonized this site, before heading off to a natural pool surrounded by coral reefs, your second stop. Finally, you'll approach the small islets around which you'll observe the mangrove and its great biodiversity, a veritable nursery of the Caribbean Sea.

The Grand Cul-de-sac marin is a 15,000-hectare natural area that unites the islands of Basse-Terre and Grande-Terre. Its maritime boundary is formed by the largest coral reef in the Lesser Antilles, while its terrestrial boundary includes one of the largest mangrove areas in the Caribbean. It is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and a RAMSAR Convention site (international recognition of the importance of maintaining and protecting wetlands). That's why the Parc national de la Guadeloupe is working hard to protect it.

Captain Nicolo, who has been based in Sainte-Rose since 2000, is an enthusiast who will give you top-quality explanations of both the environment and its evolution. By embarking with his teams, you are choosing to set off on a voyage of discovery, supervised by a team renowned for its commitment to the environment.
