Jams and syrups - Bambous du Mas de Lay
Mas de Lay
30140 Saint-Sébastien-d'Aigrefeuille
France
Eric and Sophie, who have lived in the Cévènnes for over thirty years, grow fagésia bamboo under the chestnut trees of an old Cevennes farmhouse.
Eric and Sophie own a 2-hectare chestnut grove. Chestnuts are processed into chestnut cream and syrup. The products are sold locally and through short distribution channels.
In addition to castaneiculture, the few fig trees on the terraces of the Cevennes farmhouse at Lay, and the strawberry trees grown in tunnels, are used to make extra jams from figs and strawberries.
Our produce is grown without the use of pesticides or chemical fertilizers. Mineral nutrition is provided by compost.
Direct sales: on the farm, at markets and fairs, and in camping groceries and local produce stores in Anduze
