In the Calanques, get to know Sébastien Deneken, web host Les Volets Rouges

The Hôtel Les Volets Rouges in Cassis was designed by Sébastien and Matthieu as a huge, friendly, welcoming, simple, generous, warm and family-friendly place, resolutely open and turned towards nature.

Les Volets Rouges is a hotel in the heart of the Parc National des Calanques in Cassis, and for me in the heart of the National Park where I used to play when I was a kid. It was my playground, I knew the hotel and I know the Calanques and the garrigue well...to take over the hotel was to go back to go forward!

Staying at Les Volets Rouges means living in the heart of nature, with all that characterizes it here: the smell of pine trees when it's really hot, or the sound of cracking when you walk on pine needles. Nature is preserved here, and we want to keep it that way.

That's why we've installed nesting boxes and an insect zone in the gardens. This allows us to have a variety of insects that we haven't seen here for a long time, such as the woodruff.

We're like ambassadors for the Parc national des Calanques! It's this attachment to the area that I want to share with my customers, telling them about the history of our region, in the heart of the calanques, the garrigue and a preserved environment.
