Popeye's "lontan" vegetables

On the slopes of Piton Cabri, in La Plaine-des-Palmistes, Pascal Picard, aka "Popeye", has turned to agroforestry. For the past 30 years, this former ox guide has been roaming the volcano range, growing fruit and vegetables without the use of chemicals.

In love with the Plaine-des-Palmistes area and its heritage, Popeye grows "lontan" fruit and vegetables adapted to the highland climate. Pears, grenadillas, citrus fruits, but also songe, tomatoes, sweet potatoes, beans and chili peppers... You can come and pick them directly on his farm, and he'll be delighted to explain to young and old how a mixed farming and livestock farm works (pigs and chickens will be on hand!).
