Charming snowshoeing in the great sites of the Pyrenees

You will stay in a charming hotel*** in a perched village of the valley with refined rooms and cuisine. This accommodation and its restaurant also benefit from the Esprit Parc National label.

The detailed program of your stay:

• Day 1 Discovery of the charming and peaceful village that will serve as our base camp for the week. Settling in at the hotel, which is adorable, and first dinner. An appetizer that will set the gastronomic tone for the week. Transfer time: 40 min.
• Day 2 Warm up on the Saugué plateau, first glimpse of the Cirque de Gavarnie. We first walk near isolated barns where the green meadows that surround them in the summer have given way to a white coat. A superb first plan which is cut out on bottom of Cirque of Gavarnie. Higher up, the barns disappear to let us discover a system of vast combes with often generous snow cover, ideal terrain for snowshoeing. Walking time : 3 to 4 hours. Difference in altitude : + 500m / - 500m. Transfer time : 25 min.
• Day 3 Starting from the Pont d'Espagne, climb through pines and fir trees; close by, the rigorous cold freezes the banks of the torrent into magical sculptures and other ice crystals. As we gain altitude, the pines become rarer, the Vignemale appears on the horizon and we discover the frozen expanses of the legendary Gaube lake. Walking time : 3h. Difference in altitude : + 300m / - 300m. Transfer time : 40 min.
• Day 4 Upstream from Barèges, hike towards the charming Aygues-Cluses valley - gateway to the Néouvielle massif - and its small pine groves. Near the hut, the valley opens up to beautiful granite ridges. Walking time : 4h. Difference in altitude : + 650m / - 650m. Transfer time : 20 min.
• Day 5 The Cirque de Gavarnie and its 3000m summits, the immensity and the enchantment of the frozen waterfalls. We will evolve in front of the heart of the Cirque, on the peaceful plateau of La Prade. A quiet walk to fully enjoy the landscape. Walking time : 2 to 3 hours. Difference in altitude : + 300m / - 300m. Transfer time : 30 min.
• Day 6 Walk to the Hautacam for a 360° view both towards the plain and towards the observatory of the Pic du Midi de Bigorre perched at 2877m. The route is done in crossing then on wide ridges which lead us to the peak of Barran and peak of the Mount. Descent on the north side through playful combes. Special dinner at the end of the stay. Walking time : 4h. Difference in altitude : + 600m / - 600m. Transfer time : 30 min.
• Day 7 After breakfast, transfer and dispersion. Transfer time : 40 min. RENDEZ-VOUS: at 5:30 pm in front of the Lourdes train station. END OF STAY: dispersal in Lourdes from 9:30 am. LEVEL: 4 to 5 hours of snowshoeing, 200 to 650 m. of difference in altitude without technical difficulty.

GUARANTEED DEPARTURE FROM 5 persons GROUP LIMITED TO 15 persons CARRYING: you will only carry your own belongings for the day. Your luggage will be transported by vehicle.

GUIDANCE: by a qualified mountain leader specializing in the region and snowshoeing.

ACCOMMODATION : in a double room in a small and charming hotel*** located in the village of Viscos overlooking the valley. MEALS: the hotel's restaurant is renowned for its gastronomic cuisine. The restaurant owner provides us with picnics for lunch.

TRAVEL : depending on the number of participants, transfers are made by bus, minibus or cab.
