Crossing the Pyrenees National Park from Cauterets to Gavarnie, two absolutely majestic massifs of remarkable beauty, combining lakes, forests, granite peaks and immense limestone cirques... A sublime and unmissable tour.
A "Nature and Great Landscapes" hike through the Pyrenees National Park and two mythical massifs. From the spa village of Cauterets, you'll head up through the forest past the tumultuous Pont d'Espagne waterfalls to the Cayan plateau, where the river Gave wanders peacefully through pines and meadows. A visit to the lakes of Embarrat and its granite needles, then on to the lake of Gaube, passing at the foot of the Grand Vignemale and its glaciers... then on to the Grands Cirques: Gavarnie with its snow-covered peaks and spectacular waterfalls, Estaubé and its flower-filled valley, and Troumouse, the oversized one. A veritable "great geological poem", revealing once again the thousand facets and incredible scenery of the Pyrenees, where an abundance of flora and fauna may greet the hiker in you.
