Rehabilitated in 2014 and managed in a sustainable way, the Arpont refuge is located not far from the glacier of the same name, on the GR5. A superb and clear view is offered to you from the roof terrace. A restaurant is proposed based on organic and local products. Bivouac authorized near the refuge. Open in spring and from mid-June to mid-September.
In the mountains, there is a motto: "Abundance is managed, scarcity is suffered... let's be aware of what we have".
With a capacity of 94 places, the refuge of Arpont is the biggest of the refuges of the Vanoise National Park. The janitor Valérie and all her team of enthusiasts are happy to live there part of the year. They cook local products, make their bread and their syrup with mint from the garden, for a simple and family cooking. Quality vegetarian meals are offered every Friday.
Respectful of the site they have been entrusted with, they are also there to raise awareness of life in the mountains, in terms of sustainable development and nature protection. Interventions and supports (tables, leaflets) are at your disposal at the refuge.
