Honey from the orchards and gardens of the Château de Montigny-sur-Aube

The beehives at Château de Montigny-sur-Aube are integrated into the orchards and vegetable gardens, surrounded by a melliferous garden and located in a building specially designed for the activity (a small pavilion made of hemp and half-timbering) at the end of the park, near the avenue of lime trees.

The orchards of the Château de Montigny-sur-Aube are recognized as one of France's leading centres for the art of espalier gardening. With its trellised fruit trees and climbing roses, its carefully tended squares, its conservatory orchard and the many flowers that adorn it, the whole is a marvel. Amateur gardeners will find plenty of ideas here, as everything is labelled and referenced. Beehives have been installed on the château's lawns. Honey from their bees is on sale at the entrance.
