In the Homol valley at Génolhac (Gard) in the Cévennes National Park, Emmanuelle Polge produces seasonal fruit and vegetables.
I grow different varieties. On the one hand, I do market gardening, with a large production of sweet onions, autumn and winter vegetables such as squash, lettuce, potatoes and leeks of course. The other part of my business is growing fruit trees, in particular old varieties of apple trees, but also pear and quince trees. I transform all my production into fruit juice and apple juice in the shared workshop here in Génolhac.
In 2025, I decided to join Esprit Parc National. For me, it was an obvious choice, because I've been involved in organic farming since the start of my business. I grow varieties that are typical of the Cévennes valleys, and Esprit Parc National's specifications made a lot of sense to me, being part of the National Park territory.
To market my produce, I've opted for short distribution channels, with two local stores, one in Génolhac and the other in Alès called La Ferme du coin. For me, it's very important to market via this model, because it's one of the few that offers a fair return for agriculture and enables contact between the customer and the farmer.
