Scientific vacations

Binoculars, magnifying glass, topographical map... take on the role of a scientist and take part in research into the zoizos of our forests. For one week, Amandine and Manal will take you into a new world, to help you better understand nature and learn about birdwatching. Come to the West or South of France to observe, listen to and count birds, in a fun and educational way.

Scientific vacations as part of the "Randos qui comptent" program

Amandine and Manal invite you to participate in scientific research, with the specific aim of improving our knowledge of Réunion's endemic birds. Amandine and Manal will provide you with all the equipment you need to carry out your mission in the field. You'll learn how to use each of these essential tools: binoculars - magnifying glass - topographic map - GPS - identification guide - etc

Equipment required

• For walking: hiking boots, pair of walking poles
• For cold weather: fleece pullover, waterproof windbreaker
• For the sun: hat or cap, sun cream factor 50, sufficient water (between 1.5L and 3L)
• For food and garbage: snacks (fresh fruit, nuts, dried fruit), picnic lunch for the day, rubbish bag
• For medical care: small individual first-aid kit, personal medication

Equipment provided and/or available: scientific equipment (binoculars, acoustic recorder, gps, etc.) for bird observation and identification

Languages: tours available in several languages: French, English, German, Creole and French sign language (LSF)
