Yoann Jaffré is a state-certified guide with a passion for ecology. He will do his utmost to make your hike enjoyable and instructive, while ensuring your safety. Botany, geology, history... any subject will be a pretext for sharing, so don't hesitate any longer and explore the island of Guadeloupe with Symbiose Caraïbes.
Hiking at La Soufrière:
You don't climb to the top of an active volcano every day, and being able to experience first-hand the power and energy that emanates from the center of the earth is sure to be a highlight of your stay. What's more, it's not really a hike, but a real journey: in addition to the dramatically changing climate, you'll pass through a succession of varied ecosystems, all very well preserved thanks to the work of the National Park. Then you'll reach the summit plateau... where you won't even feel like you're on planet Earth! Yoann will help you make the most of this rare experience, giving you all the explanations you need about the geology, volcanism and vegetation of this exceptional place! If you're lucky, the view from the summit is splendid, but be aware that this rarely happens: it's one of the wettest places on earth! So, yes, it's cold, windy and often foggy, but it would be a mistake not to make the most of this visit.

During his various experiences abroad, Yoann Jaffré tried to understand the functioning of nature and the relationships that unite living beings in a perfect symbiosis. Upon his arrival in Guadeloupe, he set out to discover the tropical forest, the green mountains, the traces of the coastline full of history, the waterfalls and the rivers. The riches of the archipelago are offered to him.
Since 2014 with Symbiose Caraïbes, he accompanies nature lovers on several traces by bringing another look, that of the investigator who strives to understand the functioning of the different elements of nature and the synergy that bring the whole together in a unifying element.
Between botany, geology, ecology and ornithology, you will discover the National Park of Guadeloupe differently, by taking paths unknown to the general public and by learning a little more about the singularities of the tropical forest. Between the majestic Vieille Dame, the impressive Chute du Galion, the unavoidable Chutes du Carbet, the historical Trace des Nèg Marrons and many others, Yoann Jaffré will explain the role of the volcano, the peculiarities of the plant kingdom or the culture of Guadeloupe through places full of history.
